Yamaha YZF R125 Blue

The YZF-R125’s advanced engine combines a 4-valve cylinder head and fuel-injection for the best possible performance. The short stroke layout gives the engine a free-revving character, which when connected to the 6-speed gearbox, delivers lively acceleration.

With R-series style front cowling and twin fox-eye headlights, the YZF-R125 has the same aggressive supersport styling as the R1 and R6. Unlike many 125cc bikes, the R125 is built on a full-sized chassis providing a more comfortable riding position – especially for taller riders.

Yamaha is committed to using high-specification components – like the large diameter 292mm front disc brake units on the YZF-R125. The compact twin-pot caliper design on the front-brake combined with the 230mm rear disc ensures smooth, controlled braking at a range of speeds and assured stopping power when you need it.

The mid-ship Yamaha YZF-R125 2011 exhaust muffler contributes to centralise the bike’s mass for balanced handling, and houses dual catalysers for cleaner emissions. In addition, an Air Induction System introduces air into the exhaust for more complete combustion of exhaust gases, lowering emissions even further.

The combined digital and analogue panel Yamaha YZF-R125 2011 speedometer provides a clear view of all the bike’s vital functions at a glance.

The Yamaha YZF-R125 2011 features a lightweight Deltabox frame which delivers an optimum balance of strength and rigidity for class-leading handling performance. Complementing the frame is a lightweight cast aluminium swinging arm that allows the link-type rear suspension system to operate more efficiently and deliver more responsive handling qualities.

Yamaha YFZ450R 2012 ATV

2012 yamaha YFZ450R ATVThe fuel-injected 449cc engine has superb power characteristics. Power delivery is smooth and strong off the line with lots of low and mid range where you need it.
The crankcase holds a crankshaft that’s ready to handle the increased balance ratio, as well as a counterbalancer for superior vibration control. The crankcase also houses the oil tank, which helps to centralize mass for unmatched handling and makes maintenance easier.
Camshafts are designed to maximize the torque available in the low and mid ranges.
Fuel injection uses a 12-hole injector that provides exceptional atomization of the fuel for maximum combustion efficiency and power delivery. The system also uses a big, 42mm Mikuni® throttle body and includes ISC (Idle Speed Control) for easy, reliable start-up and warming.

The prestigious “ATV of the Year” Award from ATV Sport Magazine. “Best in Class” from ATV/SxS Illustrated. Winner of shootout after shootout. The YFZ450R took ’em all – in its first model year, right out of the starting gate. This is one amazing ATV!
In ATV motocross, great power output doesn’t mean much without superior handling. YFZ450R delivers! The stance of the YFZ450R is motocross ready. The weldless frame is designed from lightweight aluminum, with a tension-steel bottom frame that lets the engine sit lower for excellent mass centralization. Suspension components have more travel, carefully chosen for best performance, and the front shock bodies feature Kashima coating for even smoother operation.
Fatigue can sometimes be a racer’s worst competition. That’s why the YFZ450R’s designers made this ATV so comfortable. It boasts racer friendly ergonomics with plenty of room to hang off in the corners, and the seat is padded just right to be more comfortable regardless of riding position. Handlebars are 4-position adjustable, too, so every rider can choose the best position, and the throttle has been designed for all day comfort.
This 449cc engine uses titanium five-valve cylinder head technology, with a camshaft designed just for this machine to deliver abundant low to midrange torque for performance where you can really use it to take the lead – while still maintaining a super strong top end to let you pull away from the pack.
The YFZ450R incorporates Yamaha Fuel Injection for precise fuel delivery. With big 42mm Mikuni® throttle body and 12-hole injector, this system provides exceptional atomization of the fuel for maximum power. The system also includes ISC (Idle Speed Control) for easy, reliable start-up and warming.
This ATV is designed to make race prep easy. Body panels come off easily for service; there’s no need to remove the battery or other components to get the fenders off. The aluminum frame is bolted together, rather than welded, for maximum durability. And the oil tank is integrated with the crankcase so it’s easier to service the engine.

The chassis is very spacious, allowing room for even an aggressive racer to move around during the moto, and the ATV’s body panels that the rider contacts during operation are of a softer plastic material for greater comfort. The seat is narrow in the front, yet wide and padded in the rear to provide a more comfortable ride, even when hanging off on the side of the seat in a turn.
The wheel has been designed with the inner lip rolled in. This increases the rigidity, allowing a reduction in weight while maintaining strength.
Wheels are set motocross-spec wide, near the maximum allowable 50 inches, for great cornering ability. The Dunlop® tires are grippy with a great pattern for cornering, and at 20 inches in the rear and 21 inches in the front, provide much better ground clearance than the competition. That makes the YFZ450R fun to ride off-road, too.
ProTaper® handlebars are mounted on 4-way clamps for exceptional adjustability. There are two sets of holes in the handlebar crown, and eccentric clamps so the rider can choose the standard setting, 10mm or 20mm forward, or 10mm back.
Foot pegs are a generous 2.6 inches wide, something riders will appreciate every time they want to get up on the pegs, with good kick-up on the ends for solid footing.
The frame is aluminum for lightweight, except for the frame member under the engine. Here tensioned steel is used for its combination of strength and thinness. This allowed the designers to sit the engine lower overall for excellent mass centralization for unmatched handling. The aluminum frame is bolted together, rather than welded, for maximum durability.
The front frame is noticeably narrow at the A-arm mounting points. This dramatically reduces changes in camber as the long A-arms travel through their full range of motion. The front 44mm KYB® shocks have Kashima coating for smooth operation with superb bump absorption and excellent anti-bottoming characteristics. The 9.8 inches of wheel travel means this racer is up to even the most challenging tracks.
The rear swingarm is crafted of strong, gravity-fed aluminum, and it’s matched to a fully adjustable 46mm KYB® piggyback shock absorber for excellent handling. Rear wheel travel is 11.0 inches for comfort even on tough terrain.
For excellent stopping ability, YFZ450R features dual front hydraulic disc brakes and a trick looking, lightweight wave-type rear rotor.

The throttle lever requires low effort, and it’s very comfortable to use. That means less fatigue during all-day riding.
The instrumentation is all business. The discrete panel on the fender in front of the rider gives vital indicators about low fuel, coolant temperature, check engine, and neutral gear via a straightforward LED display.

Yamaha Lexam “moped and matic motorcycle combination”

yamaha lexam will satisfy your taste who want a combination of mopeds models with automatic transmission machine.

Yamaha lexam front viewYamaha lexam rear view

Mopeds are popular for their ease of ride and convenience in daily use. Because they are often shared by family members, the market has been calling for models with automatic transmission. However, the length of conventional CVT units designed for scooters was a problem when applying them to mopeds, thus creating the need for a far more compact CVT unit design. Yamaha Motor answered this need by developing the Y.C.A.T. as a core technology featuring a high-elasticity, heat resistant resin drive belt with optimized sheave (pulley) design and an optimized belt-chamber cooling function to create a unit compact enough for the new model that retains the look and feel of a moped.

Yamaha YZF-R1 2011 MotoGP-inspired Engine

Yamaha YZF-R1Back for 2011, the YZF-R1 is the only production motorcycle with a crossplane crankshaft. Crossplane technology, first pioneered in MotoGP® racing with the M1, puts each piston 90° from the next, with an uneven firing interval of 270°- 180°- 90°- 180°. This uneven order does an amazing thing… it actually lets power build more smoothly. That means smooth roll-on delivery out of the corners, with outstanding tractability, followed by very strong high rpm power. It’s a feeling that’s simply unmatched, like having two engines in one: the low-rpm torquey feel of a twin with the raw, high-rpm power of an inline four. This breakthrough technology on the YZF-R1 represents a paradigm shift in both technology and performance.
This R1 keeps all the technological superiorities developed for its predecessor: YCC-TTM (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle) is MotoGP® inspired fly-by-wire technology used to deliver instant throttle response. YCC-I® is Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake which is a variable intake system that broadens the spread of power. The fuel injection system provides optimum air/fuel mixtures for maximum power and smooth throttle response.
The R1 features Yamaha D-MODE (or drive mode) with rider-selectable throttle control maps to program YCC-T performance characteristics for riding conditions. The standard map is designed for optimum overall performance. The “A” mode lets the rider enjoy sportier engine response in the low- to mid-speed range, and the “B” mode offers response that is somewhat less sharp for riding situations that require especially sensitive throttle operation. Switching maps is as easy as pushing a button on the handlebar switch.
In keeping with this machine’s exceptional cornering ability and crisp handling, the aluminum frame has been designed to offer exceptional rigidity balance. The rear frame is lightweight Controlled-Fill die-cast magnesium, contributing the optimum mass centralization. Suspension includes SOQI front forks which use one of the tricks developed for our winning MotoGP® bikes: independent damping. The left fork handles compression damping and the right side handles the rebound damping. And the rear shock adopts bottom linkage for optimum suspension characteristics.
The bodywork does more than add break-away-from-the-crowd styling with its more serious, less busy look. The side fairing is smooth for a sleek appearance. And, instead of the usual four-bulb headlight design, the R1 has only two projector-type bulbs mounted closer to the nose of the bike. This positions ram air ducts closer in for a more compact, smooth look. In addition, the rounded lenses are unique to the supersport industry.

YZF-R1 2011Crossplane crankshaft technology proven in victory after victory on MotoGP® machines provides a high-tech uneven firing interval. Unlike typical inline-four engine design, where the two outer and two inner pistons move together in pairs with 180° intervals, the crossplane crankshaft has each connecting rod 90° with a unique firing order of 270° – 180° – 90° – 180°. This overcomes the inherent fluctuations in inertial torque during each engine revolution, and the accompanying peaky torque characteristics. Instead, combustion torque continues to build, giving the rider more linear throttle response with awesome power and traction out of the corners.
To maximize rider comfort as well as power output, the engine adopts a coupling-type balancer that rotates in the opposite direction as the crankshaft.
This engine features forged aluminum pistons to take maximum advantage of the power characteristics. Titanium intake valves are lightweight.
A forced-air intake system is adopted to increase intake efficiency by using the natural airflow during riding to pressurize the air in the air box. This contributes to outstanding power delivery characteristics in the high-speed range, while the design also helps to minimize intake noise.
Slipper-type back torque-limiting clutch greatly facilitates braking/downshifting from high speed.
The exhaust system is meticulously designed to enhance engine output while, thanks to its three-way catalyst technology, also reducing exhaust emissions. The silencer is a single expansion type, and the sound coming through from the unique crossplane crankshaft-equipped engine is unlike any other inline-four cylinder production supersport.
This fuel-injected engine takes full advantage of YCC-T (Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle), the MotoGP®-inspired fly-by-wire technology used to deliver instant throttle response. There’s also YCC-I, Yamaha Chip Controlled Intake, the variable intake system that broadens the spread of power. Fuel injectors have 12 holes for optimum fuel atomization that translates to the most power from every fuel charge.
Have it your way, thanks to Yamaha D-MODE (or “Drive Mode”) variable throttle control. There are three modes that control how YCC-T responds to throttle input from the rider. The selectable “A” mode puts more emphasis on engine response in low to midrange rpm. “B” mode, on the other hand, provides less sharp response to input for riding situations that require especially sensitive throttle operation. The standard map is designed for optimum overall performance. Selecting the map you want is as easy as pressing a button on the handlebars.

YZF-R1 speed

The frame has a combination of uncompromising rigidity where needed along with carefully achieved flex for the precise rigidity balance this bike needs to give the rider the full benefit of its handling and engine characteristics. It is a sophisticated combination of Controlled-Fill die-cast, stamping, and gravity casting… the exact technology needed for each portion of this advanced frame.
SOQI front forks take a page from the championship-winning design of our MotoGP® weapon, the M1. Since both forks always move together, compression damping duties can be confined to the left fork, while rebound damping is precisely handled by the right fork, reducing oil cavitation.
The SOQI rear shock features both high and low speed compression damping plus an easy-to-use screw hydraulic adjustment for preload. This unit also adopts a pillow-ball-type joint for exceptional shock absorption, road hold feeling, and damper response. To achieve maximum performance, a bottom linkage is used to work with the rest of the chassis refinements for brilliant, crisp handling characteristics.
Factory racers get machines tailored to their preferences. Welcome to the club. R1 has adjustable footrests, with a 15mm height and 3mm front-to-rear adjustment.
The press-formed fuel tank has a shape developed using 3-D simulation analysis technology. The elongated shape of the tank allows it to fit neatly within the frame in a way that promotes concentration of mass.

Lorenzo build an impressive eight second lead over Rossi at Estoril Portugal

2010 World Champion Lorenzo made a strong start from pole, taking the lead into the first corner before briefly relinquishing it to Nicky Hayden for a few seconds before taking back control of the race. Team-mate Rossi made a play for the lead on lap four, relegating Lorenzo to second until lap 17 where a decisive out braking manoeuvre saw the Spaniard retake the lead, putting his head down to build an impressive eight second lead over Rossi by the chequered flag. The victory was another landmark for Lorenzo, being the third consecutive time he has won from pole position at this track. Rossi's second position finish continues his impressive record in Portugal, giving him his tenth podium here in all classes.
Jorge Lorenzo

Fiat Yamaha riders Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi put in a superb team performance today at the Grand Prix of Portugal on the Estoril circuit, taking first and second respectively to deliver Yamaha it's third consecutive Triple Crown with the Team, Rider and Manufacturers' titles. The achievement marks the first time since the Triple Crown's inception that any manufacturer has won it three times in a row. After a weekend of disruption from the weather today's race was run mainly in bright sunshine, although rain earlier in the day meant the track was still patchy to begin with.
Rossi's second-place and a non-finish from Casey Stoner means the Italian has moved back to third in the championship standings, 19 points off Dani Pedrosa and second place. The final round of the season comes in one week's time at Valencia in Spain.
Jorge Lorenzo - Position: 1stTime: 46'17.962
"On the warm-up lap I could see there were still a few wet parts and I knew that I was going to have to be careful at the beginning. I got a great start and was in the lead but eventually Valentino overtook me and then off he went. He had a better pace than me then and I couldn't go with him. As the track got drier I found my pace improving and then step-by-step I closed the gap and was able to get past him. At that point I felt really good and I am so happy to win for the third time here at Estoril. It was a long time since I have won but my confidence has remained high and I haven't been worried. I knew I could win here at my favourite track. We also confirmed the Triple Crown for Yamaha today so well done to the whole team for this victory."
Valentino Rossi

Valentino Rossi - Position: 2ndTime: +8.629
"Like I said yesterday, a wet warm up and a dry race is a difficult one! I am happy about this weekend, we worked really well on the bike on the wet and this morning I was the fastest in the warm up, if it had been a wet race I could have been very competitive. For the dry we started blind so I had to try to take some risks at the beginning because the setting was ok, but it was not enough because when Jorge got into his rhythm he was faster than me, I had no way to fight with him. I tried to stay with him but he was too fast. Anyway second place is positive for my championship because I am back in third place and I'm not so far from Dani Pedrosa in second. I'm happy to have improved the setting of the bike but we are still not strong enough so we will try to improve for Valencia for a final win with Yamaha."

Wilco Zeelenberg - Team Manager
"They were strange conditions for the race today, being run in the dry after all the wet practice sessions. We struggled at the start a bit with a full fuel tank, Jorge over braked a little on the end of the straight so P1 was not so good in the beginning. After eight or nine laps however the feeling was a lot better and he was able to catch up with Valentino and pass for the win. This is victory number eight and after a few races of not winning we are happy to be first again! We need to keep our focus for Valencia because it would be great to finish this fantastic season with one more win."

Davide Brivio - Team Manager
"On one side it was a very good race because we went into a dry race with a blind setting and we got a very good result, but unfortunately when you are so very close to the victory it's hard to not get there. Anyway we took a positive second position and we learned a lot today about out setting for the final race. It was a very positive day for Yamaha too because we took the Triple Crown again, well done to everyone."

Mixed fortunes for Edwards and Spies in Estoril
The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Yamaha Team experienced mixed fortunes at the Grand Prix of Portugal today, Colin Edwards racing to a gutsy seventh position while Ben Spies was unfortunately unable to start after a heavy fall on the sighting lap.

After a weekend of atrocious weather severely disrupted the practice and qualifying schedule, the MotoGP race started on a drying track in bright and sunny but blustery conditions. Some damp patches were still visible on the surface after further torrential rain this morning, but with no dry track time under his belt, set-up and tyre choice became a lottery for Edwards.
Edwards needed to call on all his experie nce as tricky conditions in the early laps presented the 36-year-old with a severe test of skill and bravery. Working out quickly where he could push, Edwards spent the majority of the race on the fringes of an exciting five-rider fight for third place. He got up to seventh on lap 18 with an overtake on Randy de Puniet and at that point he was only 1.6s behind Marco Simoncelli in third.

Frustratingly for the Texan, he was unable to force his way into contention for a rostrum, despite launching numerous attempts to close down on the podium battle unfolding directly in front of him. He eventually finished seventh and heading to the final round in Valencia next weekend, Edwards is just one-point behind Marco Melandri in his bid to claim a top ten overall championship finish.

It was a difficult afternoon for fellow American Spies, who had impressed all weekend on his first visit to the Estoril track. Spies w as confident of a strong race despite having never completed a single lap of the track in the dry. But he crashed on the second of two sighting laps at turn four and was unable to start the 28-lap encounter.

Spies suffered a dislocated left ankle and aggravated injuries suffered in Le Mans and Silverstone earlier in the season. The 26-year-old will now travel to Spain where he will undergo MRI scans on the ankle, though he is determined to end his outstanding rookie campaign by participating in the final round in Valencia next weekend.
Colin Edwards

Colin Edwards - Position: 7th 99-points
"It was a lottery before the race because we'd had no dry track time and at the start there was still quite a few damp patches around. My guys at Monster Yamaha Tech 3 though did an awesome job because what we ran on the bike worked pretty good. But if you don't adapt in a couple of laps then you're in big trouble and off the pace. I felt pretty good from the start even though it was so difficult in the first few laps. It was hard to find the limit or work out when you were going to slide and everybody was having big moments. This is all going on why you're trying to push at the same time and it was a bit of a lottery just to keep it on two wheels. I caught that group and I could see third but I couldn't do anything with them and that was pretty frustrating. I made up time on them on the brakes but they just had a bit more punch coming out of the corners. So each time I'd close up, they'd gap me leaving the next corner. The podium was right there, I could see it, but I just couldn't get close enough."
Ben Spies

Ben Spies - DNS 163-points
"I knew the race was going to be tough because I had never turned a lap in the dry on this track. The first sighting lap was fine and o n the second I just made a mistake at turn four. Aoyama and Capirossi were in front of me and they nearly did the same thing. I just didn't have the left side of the tyre heated up enough and it spat me off. I'm frustrated because I'm sure even in the dry I could have had a fairly good race. I've hurt my left ankle again and it's pretty painful right now. I'll have some more scans in Spain but my intention is to go to Valencia and race and hopefully do the test too. We'll have to wait and see but that's my plan right now."

Herve Poncharal - Team Manager
"It was certainly a mixed day for us. Colin rode a great race and he was always in that group fighting for the podium. He gave his maximum effort and he wasn't that far away from the podium at the end in a race that was very difficult considering nobody had any dry track time over the weekend. I was standing on the grid when Race Direction told me that Ben had crashed at turn four and I feel really sorry for him because all weekend he's done an incredible job. He'd never seen this track and in atrocious conditions he was always one of the fastest on track. When you look at the race it is not impossible to imagine Ben being capable of fighting for the podium again. We hope he'll be fine for Valencia and I know already that he wants to race. Congratulations also to Jorge for another fantastic win in what has been an amazing year for him and Yamaha."

YZ 450F 4-stroke Liquid Cooled Motocross

Yamaha YZ 450F The YZ450F features a revolutionary fuel injected, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 4-valve, DOHC, rearward-slanting single cylinder engine and an advanced Bilateral Beam aluminium frame with components distributed for a perfect mass-centralisation and class-leading handling.

Unique engine design features a rearward slanting cylinder that is "reversed" compared to traditional designs. The FI throttle body and air box are front mounted while the exhaust exits from the rear of the cylinder. This design is used to centralize mass for excellent handling and a light feel. The other major benefit is the straight shot intake system which maximizes power output. The engine is slanted 7.5 degrees rearward.
The "reversed" design allows for a straight intake path into the cylinder, providing maximum intake flow and efficiency for excellent power. The front positioned intake means that engine heat will have less "heating effect" on the incoming fuel charge (cooler fuel helps increase power).
Centrally located spark plug and the 4-valve head promotes a "tumbling effect" of the inboundYamaha YZ 450F Red fuel / air for better combustion, improved throttle response and power output.
Compact, 4-valve cylinder head design, features a 12.5:1 compression ratio. The intake valves are 36mm in diameter and the exhaust valves are 30mm.
Lightweight titanium valves (intake & exhaust) and load-reduced oval valve springs reduce reciprocating mass for less friction, faster-revving and smoother-hitting power delivery across the rev range.
Automatic cam chain tensioner reduces maintenance and cam chain "sliders" reduce internal frictional losses.
High performance, light weight hollow intake and exhaust camshafts.
The lightweight aluminium cylinder features a ceramic composite coating which is applied directly to the aluminium, eliminating the need for a heavy iron sleeve or liner. The ceramic coating insures faster, more uniform heat dissipation, reduced friction and a longer service life.
The cylinder is "offset" relative to the crankshaft to reduce frictional losses between the piston and the cylinder wall during the power stroke. This offset design is a first on a Yamaha motocross machine.
Crankcase design utilizes an integrated oil tank inside the cases to supply oil to the dry sump lubrication system. This design concentrates mass lower in the frame for optimum handling and lighter weight feeling. There are no exterior oil lines with this design and the internal oil tank is designed to promote air - oil separation.
Special cylinder design features cutaways that allow the air "trapped" under the piston to enter a side chamber (or cutaway) to reduce horsepower-robbing "pumping losses."
The crankcase also utilizes cutaways to reduce "pumping losses". The crankcase cutaways match the cutaways in the cylinder for maximum efficiency.
Lightweight , short-skirt, forged piston provides excellent reliability, less mechanical vibration and reduced weight.
Yamaha YZ 450F Engine Piston oil cooler utilizes a pinpoint nozzle that directs oil to the desired portion of the cylinder and underside of the piston, which reduces piston, cylinder and rod temperatures for great durability.
Oil volume in the engine has been optimized to reduce weight and oil drag related power losses.
Lightweight gear driven balancer shaft reduces vibration for improved rider comfort and less rider fatigue.
The crankcase features a tri-axis layout for the crank, main and drive axles. This tri-axis design keeps the crankcase more compact while also centralizing mass for excellent handling. All of the shafts are positioned low in the cases to maintain a low centre of gravity.
5-speed transmission features "involute splines" on the transmission axles to ensure smooth shifting and instant hook-up under power. The multi-plate wet clutch features a revised clutch lever actuating arm (engine side) to reduce excess free play as the clutch heats up during a moto.
5-speed transmission optimizes engine performance. This 5-speed transmission provides great performance and makes the YZ450F very versatile for MX, Hare Scrambles, Super Moto, Ice Racing and Enduro type applications.
Quick-access, lightweight magnesium outer clutch cover for fast, easy clutch maintenance.
Keihin 44mm throttle body fuel injection system is a battery-less design for reduced weight and is designed specifically for MX applications. The 12-hole injector maximizes fuel atomization for more complete combustion and great power output. The benefits of fuel injection include constant ongoing adjustments to insure the optimum fuel - air ratio regardless of outside air temperature and altitude. Other benefits include improved starting and improved throttle response. The system is equipped a throttle position sensor (TPS), plus a range of sensors (engine temp, outside air temp and air pressure etc.). There is also a cold start and fast idle knob which doubles as an idle adjuster too.
The injector spray pattern, spray direction and the distance to the intake valves have been optimized, while the specially designed straight intake tract helps to maximize the benefits of the FI system and overall power output.
Optional, compact, hand held "YZ Power Tuner" allows tailoring of both fuel injection settings and ignition mapping. Nine (9) different setting points can be accessed for both the FI and ignition maps. Maps can be stored and shared with other Power Tuners if desired. The days of removing a carb to make jetting changes are gone.
Compact, lightweight in-tank electric fuel pump
Larger capacity ACM (alternating current magneto) is used to eliminate the need for a battery.
Automatic decompression system ensures easy starts in any gear with no manual lever to fuss with.
Air box (located behind the steering head) features a straight shot intake boot and a washable, dual-stage, foam air filter.
"Tornado" design exhaust system exits from the "rear" of the cylinder. The spiral winding of the header pipe provides the correct "tuned" length and takes full advantage of the exhaust "pulse" effect to maximize cylinder filling. There is a "resonator" (or power chamber) built into the header pipe. Another benefit of this exhaust system is mass centralization
Re-packable lightweight aluminium / stainless steel muffler has been designed to optimize the performance of the engine. Muffler disassembly is easy since the silencer bolts together with allen screws.
Compact, lightweight, single core, dual radiators provide outstanding cooling efficiency.
High powered ECU controls the ignition and fuel injection processes. There is also a "G" sensor system that will shut down the fuel injection system if the bike lies on its side for more than 10 seconds. There is no special procedure to re-start the bike … just kick it and go.
Works-style race-spec "barrel adjuster" for on-the-fly clutch adjustability.
Easy access oil filter.

Compact "bilateral beam" aluminium frame centralizes mass for exceptional handling. This 450cc class specifically designed frame consists of a "High Solid Die Cast" head pipe, hydro formed main rails plus various forged and extruded components. This frame is compact and offers significantly improved "rider - machine communication" (a.k.a. feedback). The engineers have optimized the balance between strength, rigidity and flex. The key goal of the chassis is faster and easier cornering … one of the keys to winning races. The engineers started with a clean sheet of paper and designed the chassis based on the requirements of a 450cc motocrosser. Note: the YZ450F frame is unique, it is not the same as the YZ250F frame.
The rigidity balance of the frame has been optimized and features high lateral and torsional rigidity with "tuned flex" in the longitudinal direction. The result is a feeling of lightness, agility and traction.
Lightweight, tapered, aluminium swingarm is produced using "hydro forming", a special method that uses high pressure liquid to form shapes. The shock is positioned in-line with the central axis of the bike. The swingarm pivot shaft is now 17mm.
Lightweight removable rear sub frame is constructed of square-section, lightweight aluminium pipe. The detachable design allows easy access when servicing rear suspension components.
Cast aluminium upper and forged aluminium lower triple clamps. Fork off set is 22mm.
Adjustaable handlebars offer a total of 4 different handlebar positions available (thanks partly to the offset design of the aluminium handlebar clamps) with an adjustment range of 30mm, to suit a wide variety of riders.
Pro Taper bars provide excellent strength and durability. Foam handlebar pad is included.
48mm, adjustable, inverted, Kayaba cartridge forks with 310mm (12.2") of wheel travel. These forks feature a twin-chamber design which means the damper unit is in a separate structure which prevents aerated fork oil from entering the inner damper assembly and reducing its damping abilities. Since the inner damper is pressurized, it also eliminates bubbles forming in the oil. Front fork adjustments include: 20-way compression damping and 20-way rebound damping. Optional fork springs are available through Genuine Yamaha parts.
The balance between the inner and outer tubes is optimized, while the Kashima coating on the pressure tank and the piston rod reduce friction for smoother suspension performance. The cylinder diameter is 24mm for excellent primary cushioning.
The 48mm inverted KYB fork also features a Transfer Control Valve (TCV). The TCV enhances the damping force from mid to full stroke and improves bottoming characteristics. The benefit of TCV is more precise control throughout the full suspension stroke. The TCV is located on the upside of the spring and its function is controlled by piston speed, not piston position … hence the term "Speed Sensitive fork".
"Kashima coating" has been applied to the fork tubes to reduce friction for smoother suspension performance.
Large "wrap-around" plastic fork protectors provide excellent lower fork tube protection. The "self-supporting" design reduces friction for smoother fork operation.
Monocross link rear suspension system features a fully adjustable Kayaba, piggyback shock which provides 315mm (12.4") of wheel travel and features separate adjusters for high- and low-speed compression damping. The shock is now in-line with the center axis of the bike for excellent control. Adjustments include: spring preload, 30-way rebound damping, 20-way low-speed compression damping and 2 turns of high speed compression damping.
The shock uses an 18mm diameter piston rod. Kashima coating is used in the shock body and sub tank to reduce friction and improve suspension performance during a long moto. The Kayaba shock utilizes a full rebound oil lock system for excellent suspension function and great ride quality. The shock spring location is 30mm lower than last year, reducing the centre of gravity.
250mm floating front wave-style disc reduces weight, improves cooling and adds style too. The disc is squeezed by a Nissin twin piston caliper fitted with lightweight aluminium pistons.
"Shorty style" adjustable front brake lever can be adjusted to fit various hand sizes.
Adjustable clutch lever can be adjusted to fit various hand sizes.
245mm rear disc brake features a "wave-type" disc. The rear disc is squeezed by a single Nissin piston caliper.
Lightweight, compact, integrated Nissin rear master cylinder (fluid reservoir is integrated into the top of the master cylinder) provides strong stopping power with excellent feel and control.
The rear caliper and the lower portion of the wave disc are protected by heavy duty plastic protectors.
Compact body work includes front number plate, front fender, rad shrouds, fuel tank, side panels and rear fender which enhance the lightweight feel and look of the YZ450F. This "minimal design" bodywork is a flat design, allowing for fast, easy rider movements. The ergonomics provide a natural and roomy riding position. The body has been designed to maintain it good looks throughout the life of the machine.
Revised. lightweight, plastic resin 6.2 litre fuel tank is located mostly under the seat, once again reducing the centre of gravity and centralizes mass for exceptional handling performance.
Lightweight Sun Star rear sprocket.
Lightweight, 21" front and 19" rear Excel rims provide exceptional durability and help reduce unsprung weight for optimal suspension performance and handling.
Large 25mm rear axle and a hub design which features a second bearing on the sprocket side for increased rigidity.

Polypropylene engine and water pump guards reduce weight.
Lightweight, extra wide foot pegs provide excellent grip and ground clearance.
Folding shift lever tip helps prevent damage.
Stainless steel, inner clutch cable provides excellent strength and long life.
Lightweight chain guide / support helps reduce chance of chain derailment. Also helps protect rear sprocket damage too.
Heavy duty rubber swingarm protector
Heavy duty DID 520 drive chain
Convenient oil level sight glass

Quick-access, magnesium outer clutch cover is light weight and speeds clutch access.
Close-ratio, 6-speed transmission uses optimized gear ratios to maximize power for outstanding acceleration and corner-exiting power.
Yamaha's patented YPVS system features a slide (guillotine) type power valve that provides the benefits of both solid, low-rpm power delivery combined with a strong top-end punch. This system varies the exhaust port height and timing based on engine rpm. The valve is also designed to match the curvature of the cylinder, resulting in a strong seal, thereby providing increased power delivery.
Mikuni TMXx38 carburetor features a "D" slide design. The TMXx carb uses a "D" shaped slide design to enhance overall power, while providing crisp throttle response at all rpms.
6-petal, carbon fiber reed design means stronger high-rpm performance with greater over-rev capacity.
Digital CD ignition system delivers a precise spark and monitors engine speed to ensure optimal timing at all rpms for fast, strong response.
Platinum NGK BR9EVX high performance spark plug is used to insure complete combustion and maximum power output. The electrode material is a specially designed platinum alloy.
Washable, dual-stage, foam air filter reduces maintenance costs.
Large-capacity, dual radiators feature a 10-row core to deliver maximum cooling efficiency.
High capacity water pump design uses a plastic impeller to reduce weight.
Lightweight exhaust system features a re-packable aluminum silencer which allows the rider / mechanic to maintain the correct amount of back pressure for maximum engine performance while reducing noise.
Works-style clutch lever features a race-spec "barrel adjuster" for on-the-fly adjustability.

Lightweight, aluminum, semi-double-cradle frame combined with the compact engine design, offer an awesome power to weight ratio. The obvious benefit of an aluminum frame is a significant reduction in overall machine weight. Yamaha has maintained the semi-double cradle design because it offers an excellent balance between stiff lateral and torsional rigidity while offering more controlled flex in the longitudinal plane. This frame design offers the ideal "stiffness balance" which means it offers the flexibility of a steel frame with the light weight of an aluminum frame. This frame is made from a unique mix of castings, forgings and extrusions that provide stiffness where it is required and flexibility in other areas. The result is the world's lightest aluminum MX frame, which provides excellent handling, good ride quality, excellent stability and responsive cornering performance.
Removable rear subframe is constructed of square-section, lightweight aluminum. Detachable design allows easy access when servicing rear suspension components.
Lightweight, tapered design aluminum swingarm is produced using "hydro forming", a special forming method that uses high pressure water to form shapes.
Cast aluminum upper triple clamp and forged lower triple clamp provide both lightweight and strength for fast, easy handling.
Adjustable handlebar mounts allow the handlebars to be moved 10mm rearward if desired.
"Speed sensitive" 48mm, adjustable, inverted, Kayaba cartridge fork features a twin-chamber design. The twin chamber design means the damper unit is in a separate structure which prevents aerated fork oil from entering the inner damper assembly and degrading its damping abilities. Since the inner damper is pressurized, it also eliminates bubbles forming in the oil. The speeds sensitive design mean the damping force is controlled by the piston speed in the fork.
The balance between the inner and outer fork tubes has been optimized, while the Kashima coating on the pressure tank and the piston rod reduce friction for smoother suspension performance. The cylinder diameter is 24mm for excellent primary cushioning while low friction oil seals provide reduced stiction for a smoother stroke.
This fork also features a Transfer Control Valve (TCV). The TCV enhances the damping force of the inner damper from mid stroke to full stroke and improves bottoming characteristics. The benefit of TCV is more precise control throughout the full stroke range.
"Kashima coating" is applied to the fork tubes to reduce friction for smoother suspension performance. Front wheel travel is 300mm (11.8").
Front fork adjustments include: 20-way compression damping and 20-way rebound damping. Optional fork springs are available through Genuine Yamaha parts.
"Wrap-around" plastic fork protectors provide excellent protection from dirt, mud and stone chips. The "self-supporting" design reduces friction for smoother fork operation.
Monocross link rear suspension system features a fully adjustable, Kayaba, piggyback shock which provides 315mm (12.4") of wheel travel and features separate adjusters for high- and low-speed compression damping. Adjustments include: spring preload, 20-way rebound damping, 20-way low-speed compression damping and 2 turns of high speed compression damping. The damper rod diameter is 18mm in diameter, while Kashima coating is used in the shock body and sub tank to reduce friction and improve suspension performance during a long moto. The Kayaba shock utilizes a full rebound oil lock system for excellent suspension function and great ride quality.
Super lightweight, "Beta" titanium shock spring. This spring reduces weight by over 500 grams versus a conventional steel spring. A reduction in "unsprung" weight causes a dramatic effect on suspension performance. This titanium spring provides outstanding strength, and durability, combined with reduced weight.
250mm floating front disc brake features a "wave" style rotor (disc) which reduces weight, improves cooling and improves styling.
Compact Nissin twin piston front caliper utilizes lightweight aluminum pistons. The braking performance is excellent with great feel and control.
"Shorty" style front brake lever is adjustable for various hand sizes.
245mm rear disc brake with single piston caliper uses an integrated master cylinder (fluid reservoir is integrated into the top of the master cylinder) for strong stopping power with excellent feel and control.
"Wave" style rear rotor (disc) reduces weight and also adds a special styling highlight too.
The rear single piston brake caliper features a rugged plastic caliper protector, while the lower edge of the disc is protected by a lower disc guard.
Specially designed "Sun Star" rear sprocket increases the contact area between the sprocket and chain rollers, thereby reducing the load on the chain and increasing the service life of both chain and sprocket.
Lightweight, 21" front and 19" rear rims provide exceptional durability and help reduce unsprung weight for optimal suspension performance and handling.
Pro Taper handlebars with reinforcing crossbar and foam pad provide excellent durability and reduced weight.
Heavy-duty 520 gold anodized "O" ring chain.

"Flat-design" seat features multi density foam that provides good initial softness / comfort and then increases the firmness as more pressure is applied. The "pebble" or "gripper" finish on the top and side surfaces and provides excellent rider grip and durability.
Seat, handlebar and fuel tank ergonomics provide excellent freedom of movement for the rider.
Large fuel cap and filler hole ensures easy opening and fast, hassle-free refueling.
Lightweight, wide titanium footpegs provide excellent grip and ground clearance.
Cleated, rear brake lever and folding shift lever tip offer superb grip and exceptional durability.
Stainless steel, inner clutch cable provides excellent strength, smooth action and long life.
Repackable exhaust silencer means a rider can maintain optimum engine performance and reduced noise levels.
