2011 Honda CBR250R
A lot of folks have been put off by the endless waiting periods for some motorcycles in the Indian market. Honda, for long has been a two wheeler manufacturer that has been producing its two wheeler models that are saddled with waiting periods running up to six months. Case in point is the Honda Activa whose stiff demand Honda isn’t able to meet on time, resulting in a waiting period stretching up to 6 months in most cases.
It was of little wonder then that the Honda CBR250R, a brilliant motorcycle that is one of the best all rounders in the Indian performance motorcycle segment also came saddled with 3-4 month waiting periods, soon after its launch earlier this year. Now though, things have changed for the better. If you’re a prospective customer of the Honda CBR250R, you can actually walk in to a Honda showroom and walk out with a Honda CBR250R in case the motorcycle is available in the color of your choice.
Honda dealers say that instant deliveries are now being made to customers paying cash up front while some Honda dealers even claim that the instant delivery scheme can even be made available for folks who buy the CBR250R on finance. The Honda CBR250R is available in two versions, a Non-ABS and an ABS version. The Honda CBR250R is powered by a technology packed 250cc, single cylinder engine that is liquid cooled producing 25 Bhp of peak power and 23 Nm of peak torque.
This DOHC, 4 valve fuel injected engine brings many advancements to the table such as a spiked cylinder outer wall surface for better heat dissipation and advanced roller rocker mechanism to reduce friction in the valve train. The CBR250R is capable of doing a noguth to hunder run in 8 seconds while going on to clock a top speed of 160 kph even as it delivers a fuel economy figure of 30 KMPL. This versatility backed with the legendary Honda quality is what has made the CBR250R a resounding success in the Indian market and now that one can buy the CBR250R minus the long waiting period, the cherry is finally atop the cake.
